Tokyo Design Festa

Twice a year Tokyo Design Festa holds a big exhibition at the Tokyo Big Site convention center on Odaiba (the man made island in Tokyo harbour). We'll be coming here again next week for the Kaigai Manga Festa.

Most of our group made our way out to Odaiba on our own. It was a simple direct route with no transfers from Ikebukuro, if you knew which train to take. The people who worked at the hotel all recommended routes where I would have to change trains. It was odd that they didn't know the best directions since they were giving out complimentary passes. Apparently no one knows the best way to get from point A to B.

The Design Festa was fun but it wasn't as cutting edge (or out there) as I was expecting. There was a lot of woodworking and crafts mixed in with traditional artists. I bought a bunch of surreal and bizarrely funny postcards and other little trinkets.
